This model comes from the later history of the old Divine Co and is seldom seen. And that’s a shame. It shares the light weight characteristics of its cousin, The Fairy Fly Rod, but this rod is lighter in hand. It is of two piece construction, the only such rod from the old Divine Co.

But this New Divine Rod has a little secret that Fred Divine would have loved: it is hollow-built. Just as Fred Divine embraced the Silkien, Spiral and eight strip rods, he would have been the first to recognize the value of a hollow-built rod. So we’ve added that feature to this little rod. It’s a bit faster than the Fairy and a fine choice for all around Trout fishing.

Like the Fairy Fly Rod, the Fly-Wate features a cork reel seat with bright Nickel Silver cap and ring hardware.

Like the Fairy Rod, the Fly-Wate also features the screw attaching the butt cap to the rod.
Note: We've elected to use a Phillips screw to differentiate our rods from the
originals. And a P.S. for history fans: the Phillips screw was not patented and
in wide use until 1936, which was just about the time the Fred D. Divine Company
stopped making rods.

The grip is a 5.5 inch slender cigar tapering down the cane at the front and overwound with moss green silk. The classic style hook keeper is wrapped with moss green silk with red border wrap. A group of seven close spaced wraps appears above The New Divine Rods decal. Guides wraps are also moss green but with red border wraps.

The rod has a genuine agate stripping guide, chrome snakes and tip-tops. This 7’, 2/2 rod is designed to cast a DT5 line and has a smooth moderate casting action.
